When I Met a Long Lost Song (Tariku Abas Etenesh) In that space, Where a soul yearns for tears and mirth –it does so to be strong, For the act is a search for a long lost song; A song orchestrated in meanings-accepted and meanings-sought; Composed by nature in the rhapsody of spins, pause, and rote, Where the meadow, the valleys, and the oceans inherently, just ‘be’; Letters in the lyrics of the will to know, to un-know, to be enslaved, to be free; In that space, Where every soul wishes to punctuate the long stretches of sameness, With a sweet moment of tears and dreaded mirth, A struggle to reclaim a long lost song does arise from the tables of “normalcy”, Of the accepted-glamorous-shallowery  and the decried, belittled, truth’s call for mercy; In that space, Where the wish 'to be' is same as the wish to end the moment; And salvage the ‘what had been’ before the air was air, the soil was soil, Life was life, flesh was flesh ...
